Is the Sitcom Dead?

In the 80s, which is as far back and I can go since I was born in 1979, we had some great shows. Shows like The Facts of Life, Different Strokes, Cosby, etc. In the 90s we had Full House, Friends, Frasier. Then came reality TV.

Copy Cat TV

We have Super Nanny on one network, and Nanny 911 on an other. We have other shows that are very similar to each other copied on each network. Now the trend continues with two upcoming shows. They are Don't Forget the Lyrics and The Singing Bee.

Unity 08

I was watching TV the other night and came across Sam Watterston talking about Unity 08. It is basically a website to get a third party added to the 2008 Presidential race. I'm still learning more about this but I wanted to at least share this site with you all.

RIP Anchorwoman

It used to be that a show was given time to "find" it's audience. Fox evidently thinks that can happen with one airing. Anchorwoman which I'm sure wasn't going to be the next big thing, but may have found a following in due time, was canceled after ONE showing.
